Finals Week and Graduation

I'll make this brief. Today I have my first two finals and I'm trying not to go crazy. Also Maria's class this semester is killing me. This final website we have to do will look awesome but every detail is hard work. It really makes me think how much we take for granted the complexity of web sites we use everyday. Also Graduation is on Friday and I'm getting so excited. I hope I pass all my classes, seriously!

Thanksgiving and the pit

Ok so I'm playing guitar in pit for "The Me Nobody Knows" over at Highland Park High School. It's a show about kids, high school students, written entirely by the students at HP, less the music. Think of it as a ghetto "Rent." The last performance is on Monday and it's been a really good time. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I only have about 5 things I'm going to. My mom is making dinner on Wednesday for my immediate family, I'm eating with my dad's folks Thursday morning, going to my mom's extended family's thing Friday afternoon, and my fiance's mom's family's thing on Thursday evening. THEN we're going to Wichita sometime that weekend for my fiance's dad's family's stuff. Should be fun and lots of good food. Just wanted to update. Everyone have a good break!

A Song

In lieu of my usual content on here, I've decided to post some of the lyrics for this new song I'm writing.

You said you'd try, you said you'd never leave
You said goodbye and now you're leaving me
Just so you know, before you go
You left the note you're walkin' out the door
Can't do this anymore
You could say the world would end outloud
I've figured you out

That's the chorus, I'm not really sure where to go after that.

So Excited

On Friday I will be flying to San Diego to see my step-sister get married. I'm so excited about this because I haven't been back there in over 4 years and I miss all my family so much. It's so strange to think that my step-sister is getting married too. My real sister just got married a year and a half ago, and she's getting married next. I'm always the last to do everything. But serioulsy, time flys by way to fast. I feel good about it though because my fiance and my sister's husband are going with us and neither one of them have been to San Diego. My sister and I delight in giving tours are friggin' hilarious together. My whole family is usually a pretty good time. My step-sister is getting married outside at a park by the beach and then she's having a reception at the Marriott downtown. It's going to be really fancy but it sounds like she's happy. I've only met her fiance once about three years ago but he seems like a nice guy. He's a typical "so-cal" dude. Good looking, spiked hair, speaks with the whole surfer accent, and rides motorcycles. I guess he would be my step-brother-in-law. I'd like to see that birthday card at Hallmark. We're only going to be gone until Sunday but who cares, I so rarely get to see my family out there and have a vacation to. This will be the first time I've left the Midwest in four years. I'm not complaining.

The Best News Ever

Yesterday morning as I was sound asleep, my cell phone rang at 7:45 AM and it was my girlfriend. I was thinking, "Oh great something bad has happened." I answered the phone and before I could get the word "hello" out of my mouth she says to me, "Baby sorry to wake you but I just heard on the radio that Angels and Airwaves is coming to KC next month. Tickets go on sale this morning." "Ok" I said. "Thanks" I hung up and thought, " That's why I love this woman." Rolling out of bed I started freaking out and rushed over to my computer to buy the tickets at 8:00 in the morining. You see Angels and Airwaves is the new band for the former guitarist for Blink 182. I was a HUGE fan of blink from like middle school on. I saw them three tmes, went to San Diego where they're from and went to their favorite mexican restaurant. I play their guitarist's signtaure guitar. When they broke up last year, I can honestly say part of me died and I cried, yes, I cried like a little girl.
Since then I haven't seen Tom Delonge, the guitar player I love, for like 2 and half years. This guy is one of my idols and i'm so excited to go and see his new band. That weekend is going to be crazt busy. Friday is graduation, Saturday is the show, and then Sunday I have family stuff and a show that night for my own band. It really be the culmination of my life to this point.

Blogging can be painful

It literally can be. My wrist hurts like crazy right now. You see, this weekend, in the midst of a wonderful outing with my fiance's family to the Great Wold Lodge and shopping I feel down and sprained my wrist. Rather I should say I was knocked down by a kid. I was running to the bathroom and in my attempt to avoid colliding with the child he ran into me and knocked me off me feet. After falling my glasses shot off my face and mu wrist took the fall. Upon impact this mutant's mom asked me, "What hurts?" I replied, "Everything!" She then walked away from me. Luckliy a kind stranger handed me my glasses and helped me up. Who just lets there toddler run around a crowded shopping center at night? Doesn't the fear of kidnapping enter into the equation anymore? If I would've knocked someone over like that when I was younger my mom would have made me apologize. People are so rude which is why I have contempt for must of the human race. As for me my wrist is twice its size and I still have work to get done. Luckily it isn't broken. Let's hear for it for irresponsible parents ladies and gentlemen.

A quick update

So last the last few weeks have been producive for me just get everything ready for the home stretch until graduation. I went and saw New Found Glory last Sunday and they were better than ever. Their new record is amazing and toally different then most of the stuff out there today. Of course, ever since this summer when someone thre a brick through my back window, taking out my radio antennae, I don't listen to the radio anymore. My band is also playing a show on Nov. 3 at Lazio's Coffee Shop in Topeka with a great band from Omaha called Shelter Belt. They have a very eclectic sound that can't really be described. It's rock, but that's about where it ends. The Review has done a couple write ups on them so if anybody wants to come it's free. I think we play first. That's really about it. I sure hope I pass all my classes. Here's hoping!
